Cybasque, together with the 69 companies that make up the GAIA group, asserts the Basque Country’s leadership in cybersecurity and is firmly committed to making the region the leading European hub in this field. According to data presented at the general assembly, the Basque sector accounts for 15% of the national market, creating more than 2,000 direct jobs and generating revenue of nearly 230 million euros, while also ranking well above the Spanish and European averages in terms of the density of specialized companies per million inhabitants. In this context, the association’s president, Xabier Mitxelena, highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration and joining forces to build a stronger ecosystem. To achieve these goals, the association has approved initiatives such as the creation of a new quantum security group, the launch of training programs, the establishment of a virtual community of professionals, and active participation in European networks such as ECSO.
