Technological advances create opportunities for sophisticated cybercrimes that, through innovative tactics and techniques, pose serious risks to the security and finances of the EU and other countries. The EU-funded ENSEMBLE project aims to combat cross-border cybercrime through advanced AI-based technology, multi-stakeholder investigative processes, training, and awareness-raising. The project focuses on the detection and prevention of ransomware, cyber fraud, data theft, extortion, unauthorized access, and cryptomining. It will develop a suite of AI-based investigative tools to help law enforcement authorities detect, extract, process, and analyze online information relevant to criminal activities. In addition, it emphasizes joint operations involving multiple stakeholders, both nationally and across borders, and will provide innovative training curricula and methods for law enforcement authorities, prosecutors, and judicial officials involved in these investigations.
