KINAITICS

Technology R&D Projects

Project description

The convergence of information technology and operational technology is well underway, with far-reaching implications for cybersecurity across various fields of application. We have long known that attacks or failures in cyberspace can have critical consequences for the physical world, especially for critical infrastructure. Conversely, intentional disruptions to physical systems—for example, through attacks on sensor readings—can have disastrous consequences for digital control mechanisms and, consequently, for physical processes. In this interconnected cyber-physical world, the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) opens the door to new types of attacks while simultaneously offering numerous defensive capabilities.

Project scope

In the KINAITICS project, our goal is to explore the new attack opportunities presented by the introduction of AI-based control and perception systems, as well as those arising from the combination of an understanding of the behavior of physical systems and cyberattacks. In the field of defense, we seek to offer an innovative range of tools and methodologies that combine behavioral monitoring with traditional cybersecurity tools to protect against these new threats.
