PrEVent is a European Horizon Europe project aimed at strengthening the cybersecurity and resilience of the electric road mobility ecosystem. The project develops advanced solutions to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber threats that could affect electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, digital platforms, and their connection to the power grid, incorporating technologies such as artificial intelligence, post-quantum cryptography, and security-by-design mechanisms.
The project covers the entire value chain of connected electric mobility, from vehicles and charging stations to management systems, digital services, and associated energy networks. The solutions will be validated in four European pilot projects related to car-sharing, public charging, logistics fleets, and electric buses, and will be developed in accordance with frameworks and standards such as NIS2, the Cyber Resilience Act, ISO/SAE 21434, and UNECE R155/R156, with the goal of improving protection, responsiveness, and recovery in the event of cyberattacks.
