The conference “The CRA Law in the Automotive Industry: From Regulatory Requirement to Competitive Advantage,” co-organized by ZIUR and MUBIL in Eskuzaitzeta, brought together some 50 companies from the mobility sector in Gipuzkoa to analyze the impact of the upcoming European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). During the event, it was emphasized that this regulation—which will be mandatory starting in December 2027 for all connected industrial products and services—should not be viewed as a mere bureaucratic hurdle, but rather as a strategic opportunity to innovate, differentiate oneself in the market, and build trust within the European ecosystem. In addition, the initial results of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council’s CRA Acceleration Program—funded with 3 million euros and managed by ZIUR—were presented; the program has already completed 25% of the assessments planned for its first eight months of operation. The event concluded with a roundtable discussion where local companies shared their practical experiences and with an urgent call from the authorities to meet the legal deadlines ahead of schedule to avoid a loss of competitiveness or fines running into the millions.
